Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account: email, name, password (hashed), OAuth provider IDs (Google, GitHub).
• Usage: the questions you ask, lesson history, credit transactions.
• Voice profiles: if you clone a voice, the cloned voice ID is stored at our TTS provider (ElevenLabs).
• Telemetry: anonymized usage events (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry).
• Payment: we do not store card details. Payments are processed by Stripe and Razorpay.

2. How we use it

• To provide the Service and remember your lesson history.
• To bill you and grant credits.
• To improve the product (aggregated, anonymized).
• For security: rate limiting, fraud prevention.

3. Who we share with

• AI providers: Anthropic (Claude) receives your question to generate the lesson.
• Voice provider: ElevenLabs receives the lesson text to synthesize voice.
• Hosting: Vercel (servers), Supabase (database), Upstash (Redis).
• Payments: Stripe, Razorpay.
• We do not sell your data to advertisers.

4. Data retention

Account data is kept for the lifetime of your account. Lesson history is kept until you delete it. On account deletion, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g. tax invoices for 7 years per Indian law).

5. Your rights

You can:

• View & export your data from your dashboard.
• Delete your account from your dashboard. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
• Request data correction by emailing privacy@knowit.guru.
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

6. Security

We use HTTPS everywhere and bcrypt-hashed passwords (via Supabase). Service-role keys never reach the browser. We do not store payment-card data.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has registered, contact privacy@knowit.guru and we will delete the account.

8. International transfers

Our database is hosted in Mumbai, India. Some sub-processors (Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Vercel) may process data in the US or EU under appropriate safeguards.
